    The next starter course at Wrexham Fencing Club will start on Friday 29th January,  e-mail starters@wrexhamfencingclub.co.uk to register your interest. Next Starter course is for Juniors (8 – 13 yo) and Seniors (13+)

    Do you want to learn how to fence?
    Starting this September you can take part in Wrexham Fencing Clubs six week starter course, where you can learn the basics of fencing.

    Who can take part in the starter courses?
    Wrexham Fencing Club caters for everyone over the age of 8, sessions are split between Juniors and Seniors to make sure that we can give the best level of coaching possible.

    What will happen over the six weeks?
    During the sessions you will be taught the basics of fencing through a mixture of group and individual lessons, given an introduction into competitive fencing all mixed in with a bit of fun!

    Will I need to bring anything with me?
    Just bring a good size bottle of water, and a decent pair of trainers! A good bit of athletic flair will also come in handy!

    What to do next?
    There are a few things that you can do to make joining the starter course a lot smoother. And in the meantime, if you have ant questions please feel free to e-mail the club at: info@wrexhamfenicngclub.co.uk

    1. Register your place
    If your interested in joining the six week starter course then please e-mail the club, with your name (or the person who will be taking part on the course), Age (only if under 18), and a telephone number. If there will be more than one person attending the course, please e-mail the necessary details of all participants.

    2. Confirmation
    Once we’ve had the right information through, we’ll contact you with information like what time to arrive, information on membership forms and we’ll give you a rough timetable of what will happen each week.

    3. Your first night
    There are a few things that you need to sort out on your first night, mainly your membership and insurance (covered later). You’ll also be shown the kit and given an introduction to the club and fencing in general.

    Checklist – What to do next?
    1.
    Confirm via e-mail, names and ages of anyone who wants to start on a course at Wrexham Fencing Club align with a contact Telephone number.

    2.
    Come along to the club on the first night of the course where you will be given tow forms, a WFC membership form (£20) and a British Fencing Membership Form (£10). Both will need to completing before you can fence.

    3.
    Now your ready to Fence! Enjoy your time at Wrexham Fencing Club!

    The Boring bits
    The cost of the 6 week starter course is £30, this covers the cost of the six week course, a years worth of British Fencing Insurance and six weeks worth of Wrexham Fencing Club Membership.

    If you then decide to stay after the six weeks – which most people do, the six week starter course will be taken out of the annual membership fee.

    The Membership Fee is split between WFC and British Fencing.

    Wrexham Membership
    £20 of the membership fee goes towards Wrexham Fencing Club and is used to cover the cost of hiring the sports hall, buying and maintaining our kit, and paying for our Professional Coaching.

    Wrexham Fencing Club also uses a large portion of its annual membership fee to of towards helping our competition fencers in travelling to competitions and paying for accommodation, particularly when they are abroad.

    British Fencing Membership
    £10 of the starter course fee goes towards British Fencing Membership which gives you insurance to fence at the club, this £10 gives you a Social membership, which means that you can only fence at a specified club, however this can be upgraded at any time and will then allow you to fence in competitions if you wanted to.

    1. hi i have been fencing for 5 to 6 years and i can honestly say because i mysel have done alot of things from olympic gymnastics to football and rugby and i can honestly say it is the best ! its not a sport its a social hobbie in my point of view ( it is a sport just in case i get into trouble ) but it is agreat way to meet people so JOIN NOW !!!!! k club
