Eleven year old Bethany Ellis was in action on Saturday (23rd January 2010). The Year 6 Whitchurch, Church Of England Junior School pupil, entered the West Midlands regional qualifiers for the Under 12 foil, in The British Youth Championships.
The first major senior fencing competition of this calendar year took place over the weekend in Colchester.
The 2010 Leon Paul Junior Series started on Sunday 17th January.The first event this year was in the foil weapon and was held in Kenilworth, Warwickshire.

The latest Wrexham and Cheshire Schools competition was held at Darland School on Sunday 17th January 2010.
Ben Roberts and Stephanie Collister braved the awful weather conditions, to make the British Selection Circuit foil competition in Gateshead this weekend (Saturday 16th January 2010) and represent Wrexham Fencing Club.
